Hi knowledgeable members.
2 trees I have which lived indoors last winter are bhudist pine (podacarpus) and a Chinese pepper tree. Both have thrived well outdoors this summer even though the pepper tree seemed reluctant at first. In your opinion can these survive a normal uk southerly winter ? I could bring them into the kItchen again or my other option is a plastic covered wall greenhouse where I tend to keep my azaleas through winter ??

Hello I'm new here on this forum and been reading posts and comments. I have lots of bonsai so I have greenhouse bought online.
You can check websites. you can choose cute ones. I don't know if I can post its picture. I don't know how. ::dunno:

Hi Richard the Podacarpus can take quite low Winter temperatures so the greenhouse would be ok but I'm not sure about the Pepper tree.
Cheers Nigel

I've got a pepper tree. It slows down around nowish and will withstand temperatures down to zero. Around -4 to -5 it will start to die back first at the tips. I bring mine in over winter - November to March and it grows slowly in my bathroom. A conservatory or greenhouse would be better I'm sure. In spring it takes a while to get going but them grows well in the warmer months.
