I've just realised that tonight's club meeting is a workshop. Haven't got a clue what to do but I have a Hinoki and a Lawson cypress that could do with some wire. Is now a good time to do that? |

Why not? There'll be less time for the wire to start biting in and for positions to set but it may be okay to leave the wire on over Winter. In my experience, the rumour that wire emphasizes freezing in the cold weather, is unfounded. |

That was what I was hoping. Put them on now and leave until spring. I never wire things tightly anyway, I like to leave room for expansion whilst still being able to set the branch where I want. Thanks Brendan. Will go and have a read . |

I'm late to this party but I think it's OK - winter wiring is slower but safer as you've all already said. |
