Post subject:	Quercus petraea v Quercus robur
hi all i would like to know peoples thoughts on which of these trees is best for bonsai? Quercus petraea or Quercus robur .. i have had the best result with Quercus petraea but i am sure some have had better results with Quercus robur. it would be great to hear what you have discovered cheers rod

Thats looking good and in your experience is it a better subject to work with than Q Robur, why? i think if you can reduce the leaf size on them then most species of oak should be great for bonsai.

quercus robur https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/ ... e=5A5462F6 i think they both make great bonsai but the petraea seems to respond better to bonsai treatment... defoliation etc this is how it seems to me others i am sure will say different
