What a transformation! I'm not keen on wiring but that has inspired me to go and do some more. I like the idea of keeping the coil of wire on your arm, too. That must make it easier to use only the amount you need. Thanks for posting it, Keith.

I watched this as well and enjoyed it. For me it's always inspiring to think about how to better style trees.

Pleased that you enjoyed it. Like you I am now inspired and of late have been keeping my eye open for some suitable material. It must be nice to have that vision when looking at material.

Here is another of his.

Interesting to see how much junior foliage he has on this one.

It's a San Jose, they have a very juvenile growth pattern.

Tom - do San Hose ever mature? I've had one for 3 years and it's grown a lot, had little pruning and is still all juvenile. I think I can see just the start of mature foliage (new shoots emerging in a scale form rather than needle form) but I wonder if I'm simply imagining it.

Yes they do, but they easily revert to juvenile. You rarely see one that is entirely adult. Also, the adult / scale foliage looks pretty long and stringy - I don't think it works well except on large trees. I keep mine in the juvenile phase.
