Post subject:  Larch in growth?

Hi all,

A few month ago I posted my concerns as my larch had shown some early small signs of growth and then totally stopped. I did some styling and repotted - but leaving the roots untouched.
Well... opposite situation now. HUGE growth.
As this is my first larch, I am wondering if it's right for this tree to grow now?...

Yes. A tree will often grow during the summer months. Nothing to worry about.

Absolutely fine.

If any of those branches are part of your final plan a bit of loose wire to point them in the right direction is a good idea. You can wire them fully in winter, so really just a very coarse but gentle application at this stage.

Please post winter pics, as this looks like an interesting tree.

Great. I feel better. All my other species put shoots in Spring so I was fearing a unappropriate growh, followed by all the risks it carries with the fresher temperature soon to come.

Sorry Garry - missed your post
Breban - Final picture isn't this yet. i want less branches and what's left to curve downwards (like branches that hav to dea with a lot of snow), so I'll get to do some wiring this weekend
