Hi folks Bought a Chinese 2 weeks ago and am after some advice on what is causing yellow leaves? It lives outside getting plenty of sun I'm keeping it moist not to dry not to wet. is it lack of Magnesium? My brains telling me to repot it or do I need to sort the yellow leaf problem first? Or is the pot the problem? Any advice on Chinese elm would be brill not trained one befor |

Hi Jack and welcome. Its almost impossible to answer your questions without sight of the tree. Could you please show a photograph taken against a plain background and tell us if water escapes from the container drain-holes within seconds of being applied? I removed your duplicated post. |

Welcome to weetrees. As Stymie says we'll need to know some more details but the good news is Chinese Elms are tough and forgiving so it'll probably be relatively straightforward to resolve. |

I'd be tempted not to repot at this time of year, particularly if it doesn't seem well and drainage isn't an issue. Leaf problem could be a few things, but as others have said, a picture speaks a thousand words. Short of running it over, a C-Elm should survive fine so don't worry too much! |

Well, that's dry as a bone! I would fill a bucket and dump the tree in for a couple of hours. They really need to be kept moist. Not dry, not damp, but somewhere in between. That means watering every day in the summer. (Unless its chucking down). |
