Can anyone post a good link or clip of how one would cultivate a Maple for bonsai. I'm keen to get a couple of Acers from the local garden centre and in a few years start training them. I'm especially keen to know how to broaden up the trunk.

Any pointers much appreciated.

The same thing applies to nearly all deciduous species.

Be aware that a small tree will take upwards of 8 years and a large one 25. I'm not kidding.
