I removed 3 of this years airlayers at the weekend. I siill have 4 on and am still waiting for them to show any roots. Forgot to photo the roots, they did have quite a good amount so fingers crossed.

Wisteria put on 10th may
It looked much better when i put the layer on, looks like some has died off :202thumbdown:

Is it best to keep them in the green house or just leave them out side until winter?

There doesn't seem to be a big volume of roots compared to the part above the soil, and we don't know what the coming winter will be like, so I would personally keep them in the greenhouse since you have one. Tender roots can be killed very fast because of the frost, or rot if it's too wet and the tree is not well-established, so do as you wish, but...

The Carpinus betulus (hornbeams) look very promissing, it would be a pity to lose them.

Well done! :201thumbup:

Thanks Alain I will put them into the Greenhouse out of the way of direct sunshine if we get any more. I have one left on the tree these came of so fingers crossed it will put some roots out soon. I have another one on a Hawthorn that looks like it will have to be left on for another winter. It is only showing few roots and definitely not enough to support it.
