Hello All!!! This is the first site i have joined regarding bonsai which was recommended by Stew Campbell. I have only recently been interested in bonsai, it started after my girlfriend said i needed a hobby. I work in security and on the doors so i get people shouting at me and discruntled, whining moaning people thinking i can do something for them. I am also training to be a Network Engineer doing my CCNA, so most aspects of my life revolve around technology. I get stressed easily after being shouted at then staring at a computer monitor for hours on end did not help. It was out of this that my hobby for bonsai unfolded, i got a chinese elm from a garden centre and have looked around the internet for help and ideas on things. It has been about 3 years since my little elm and what started as a hobby as grown into an obsession. I am from Sunderland in the North East, i live in a terraced house with a back yard and always wanted a garden. I now have two chinese elm, a japanese maple, a pear, japanese larch and have just recently purchased a huge beech from Mr Campbell on behalf of a friend. I could of listened to this man talk for hours and i loved seeing his many different bonsai, had my dad not been waiting in his car (which i had to use as i only ride motorbikes and bonsai dont travel well on the back lol) i would of been there till the sun went down. So he recommended this site and a guy in my area who i will be contacting soon, Rob Atkins. I realise i need help from people with experience and am just a sponge at the minute, my eyes have been opened. My girlfriend loves it, when im on the computer for long periods of time she asks what im up too and then laughs when i say im looking at trees. My mates think im weird as most are content with getting drunk and playing computer games, while im on my phone looking at bonsai. This really is a passion and cant get enough. So HELLO ALL |
